After lunch, continue to the impressive Grand Egyptian Museum, now the new showcase for Egypt’s priceless antiquities, including the remarkable treasures of Tutankhamun. In the morning, travel to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, before continuing to Saqqara to explore the impressive Step Pyramid of King Djoser, one of the earliest monumental stone structures ever built and a powerful symbol of ancient Egyptian strength and royal authority. Later, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and escorted to your luxury five-star Nile cruise ship. After breakfast on board, set out early to explore Luxor’s West Bank, beginning with the towering Colossi of Memnon. Return to the cruise for lunch on board, followed by a relaxed afternoon at leisure. In the evening, you may choose to attend the optional Sound & Light Show at Philae Temple (approximately £55 per person), where the temple’s history is dramatically illuminated against the night sky.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning on board or choose to join an optional early excursion to Abu Simbel (approximately £120 per person by road or £280 per person by air). These magnificent temples, commissioned by Ramses II, stand proudly on the shores of Lake Nasser and are among Egypt’s most breathtaking monuments. Return to the cruise for lunch on board, followed by a peaceful boat trip around Elephantine Island, including a visit to the lush Botanical Gardens on Kitchener’s Island. In the evening, enjoy dinner on board and spend the night in Aswan.

After lunch, travel by coach to explore Karnak Temple, often described as the world’s largest open-air museum. This vast complex spans an extensive area and features several temples, the most impressive being the Temple of Amun with its towering columns and grand courtyards. Continue with a short drive to Luxor Temple, once connected to Karnak by the magnificent Avenue of Sphinxes, many of which remain visible today. After your visit, return to the cruise for dinner on board and enjoy your overnight stay in Luxor.

For the more adventurous, an optional early morning hot air balloon ride is available (approximately £110 per person – please enquire), offering breathtaking views over Luxor’s ancient landscape. After breakfast on board, check out from your cruise and transfer to your selected Red Sea resort, where you will begin your relaxing 5-night stay by the coast.
